HOW TO FIND US

The Chesapeake Room at the Mathews Memorial Library has an extensive collection of materials focusing on state and local history and genealogy research.

Mathews County has been the home to many notable people who have been instrumental in shaping the history of the county, state and the United States.  It is also the site of many significant historical events, including the American Revolution and the War between the States.

The Chesapeake Room collection is open to all researchers whenever the library is open.  Our trained staff is available to introduce first-time users to the collection and to give assistance to researchers.
